Spring Break...

Oh how I love Spring Break, especially when it is as BEAUTIFUL as it was this week. The greatness started last Thursday, it rained and pored = no softball Thursday. Friday, it rained and pored = no softball Friday or Saturday! So Spring Break actually got to start on time for me!

Friday: Javier and I went to the Chicken with Aron then met up with his girlfriend Rain.
We met up with some friends of mine accidentally and wound up having a long fun night!

Saturday - Amy Woodall came into town! We always have fun! I went to bed early on Saturday - a great cold wet day that let me recover from the last 2 hectic months. Sunday it warmed up a little bit, and Amy had lunch with her family, so I went to Seguin for the TLU softball games! Brandi came with me - which was awesome to hang out with her for a full day! It stinks though because it makes me miss her more now. At the game, well it was awesome, Suki hit a triple! It was almost full alumni day, CC (my shortstop when I played) Crystal (centerfield) Dobbie (pitcher) Dorothy (3rd base) Amy (2nd/DH - my 3 hitter) Holly (right field) Jayme (2nd base) and Clifton and Sheryl (the 2 best supporters of all time) It was such an awesome day, I really miss all of the girls. CC Crystal and I used to be attached at the hip, and we've lost touch - had fun catching up! Too bad I forgot my camera! augh but here's a picture of Dane and Brandi :)

Monday Amy, Javier and I took JoJo and Dixie to Research Park for some fetch and swimming in the wonderful 80 degree weather!
These Turtles were there before JoJo and Dixie got there... they were gone quickly after the leashes came off :)
The turtles were just to the right of them

JoJo loves her softball!

Dixie's first swim - not on purpose :)

Tuesday - Javier decided to learn how to bake bread! So we spent the day researching and baking! Here is just the first loafs he made - out of about 400 total rolls...
and yes, it was as good as it looks!

Also on Tuesday, Hobson's baby momma had her beautiful son Stephen Turner! I wont post pictures, but I was anxiously awaiting his arrival!!

Wednesday, my friend Natalie called - from San Antonio - and was in town with her new baby weenie dog! So we met up with her 2 dogs and our 2 dogs at a local open field and let them run off some energy! Dixie got along great, well other than trying to herd the baby, it was her first experience with other dogs than JoJo. These pictures are in backwards order...

Dixie got tired at the end and would find "shade" anywhere she could... if we would move, so would she -- The weenie dog was Frankie... He was trying to wake her up to play

Dixie liked having dogs her size! The little one is Riley.

JoJo took that stick from Dixie -- but they play well as long as JoDee gets what she wants.

Javier running with the dogs - this is how we always start the park trips :)

Days like Wednesday make it hard to go to work, it was awesome spending time as a family!

Thursday - it was 80 degrees again, not a cloud in the sky and I had a softball game!! The silver team went to Valley Mills for one game. We lost 4-3 but it was a great game. Losing is never fun, but we are a JV team and VM was varsity... so its OK :)

Friday - it was 78 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and I had another softball game!! Silver played again, Temple this time - we won 24-1!! Varsity lost 2-0, but one of my JV girls had 2 great pinch hits!! AND GUESS WHAT Suki came to town - late on Friday!!

Saturday was our JV White softball tournament! Suki came with me for the morning game and brought Dixie. She was so well behaved! (Dixie and Suki) haha We won our first game! One of the girls watched Dixie while Suki and I went for lunch with Javier - then I came back for our 2nd win of the day - which Javier and Suki got to see! Dixie slept the whole game. By winning 2 in a row we went to the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! Dixie got a little overheated and didn't feel well, so she slept some more, and I worried! We played Consol for the championship game and lost 9-1, but still took 2nd place! I was so proud of the girls!! That night, I was pretty fried, but Suki and I went and found her a new outfit! I Really miss Suki!

Today Javier got up early to smoke some wild hog that Buck gave us. He's never cooked wild game before, so we decided to only have over 2 people to eat. Suki and I baked some rolls before she left for home.
Too bad they didn't turn out great :( Jordan and Mary came over and we skittishly ate a few pieces of hog.
I don't think smoked hog is how it should be done. Good thing we have a lot more to try a better cooking method! We all filled up on bread and cookies :) Now Javier is baking Choc. Chip cookies and I'm supposed to be working on a project for school...

Spring Break was great, I hope next week at work isn't bad! This is my first break period where I didn't miss my kiddo's... makes me sad kind of :( But now thinking about it, I am excited a little :)

Here are a few pictures I promised of Dixie's arrival :) we found the connector for the camera, can you tell -- ha ha
