For short, Dixie... that would be our new puppy! She's a Border Collie that I stupidly purchased on a whim at the puppy store in the mall... I know I know, there are tons of puppies that need homes from shelters that cost tons less, but If you saw her face, you would have bought her too :)

The Joys... She is so smart - as with the breed - she already knows sit! She also has figured out that the puppy gate blocking the kitchen, where her water is, can be by passed if she sits at the door to go outside, then runs around the house to the back door, knowing I'll let her in there, going straight to the water bowl. I don't deny her water, that sounded bad, but after 10:00 pm we don't give her any water so we don't have to wake up every 10 minutes through the night. She has sweet puppy breath! Her and JOJO play wonderfully together!

The "what the heck was I thinking" ... She HATES her kennel. JoDee never had any issues with being in a kennel, she loves it actually... not Dixie. As I type she is barking hysterically in her kennel, when just 5 minutes ago she was - barely able to keep her head up - tired. She is not so great at potty training, since she was able to go whenever and where ever she wanted in her cage. She hasn't gone in her cage, but she's number oned everywhere else in our house! She is however getting much better : ) Scratching.. so the million dollar puppy store obviously doesn't care about fleas, she she was infested with them when we got her home. Because of that, she has scratched herself red. She has no more fleas, but still is irritated at her skin, causing us to buy some soothing lotion for her. It works ok, but she's in the habit of scratching now, so we have to break it. OOOOHHH, SIDE NOTE - she stopped barking! I bought a SpraySense Anti-Bark collar for her today. I have already had to refill it once, and was about to mark it down as a BIG FAT WASTE OF MONEY, but she is settling down. It will take time I guess.

I don't have any pictures of her at this moment, because we can't find the connector cord from the camera to the computer. But she is white with black freckles on her nose and legs. She has one black mark on her back and both eyes are black. One mark goes up to the ear, the other is freckled too :) This is the closest online picture I could find. Its not really that close though :(


Any anti-barking advice is welcomed greatly! Javier is about to "give her to (my) mother" I will get pictures up of her ASAP -- I have some really cute ones of her and JOJO playing together!

BTW -- my girls won the consolation prize at the Schulenburg Varsity tournament - mine are JV! yay!
