Little Brother, pants, and JoJo

This blog will have a few random things :)

1st - today is DJ's 21st birthday!! I feel very old now. His girlfriend took him sky diving for the big event -I think she has taken out a life insurance policy on him or something because for their anniversary they went bungee jumping and on their cruise they went on a zip line... yeah she's trying to kill him. D and I have an interesting relationship - like the rest of our family, we make fun of each other a lot, however I am quite protective of the little pain in the butt. He's no longer my little brother I guess, he's about 6'2" 180-190 --yeah tall, dark, thin, and handsome... I don't think we really share any genes, but mom and dad swear he wasn't adopted.

2nd - by request I am going to share a story with the blogger world... so Edwards read and enjoy... Saturday was the A&M vs Army game, and yes i was working concessions. many of those who know me know I don't like to throw clothes away. and if they are baggy - i love them! Well, i was wearing a pair of khaki Capri's that are a little loose, a point will follow. Another side note, there were no men working the game, so it pretty much left me to do the majority of the lifting... soda bibs, water crates, ice bags... lets just say I spent a lot of time lifting and bending on Saturday (yay free calories) So about half way through the game, I was asked to refill the soda machines with ice, so I go get the 40 pound bag and start pouring in into the bin... and before I can even notice that they were slipping, my baggie Capri's dropped to my ankles. I mean all the way down, no bumps in the road and there I was holding a big bag of ice, in front of all of the customers with my pants around my feet! Deborah - one of the teachers working - was gracious enough to grab the bag from me and not laugh too hard as I pulled my pants up.. then the running joke was that if you come to our stand you get a show with your soda... yeah so I really thought it would be just a thing between those of us there - especially since the only 2 people that actually saw the incident were Parker and Mrs. Degelman (a mom of one of my former students)... I thought I was clear to come back to work today (after a sick day)... I was wrong, as soon as I saw Rebecca she started laughing - I knew the secret was out... apparently Degleman has a big mouth!!! Anyhoo it was pretty funny, so I don't mind.. I just am a little embarrassed because 24 out of 25 days I wear cute pretty colored underwear... not Saturday, i was totally wearing tighty whiteys... yep I know even more humiliating == oh well :)

Our family has decided to spend this Thanksgiving in Las Vegas! mostly for DJ's birthday, but also as a good way to spend time together - too bad Javier doesn't want to go, so I'll be stag out there :( -- but I will have fun with my family!! I am disappointed a bit because my dad normally creates a monstrous Turkey day Feast -- yeah I know its not good to be sad about not getting to eat a meal that is 2 months away, but... if you ever had it... yeah its good :) So Vegas here I come!!!

JoJo is doing so awesome! She sits, stays, high five's and can totally catch almost everything you throw at her! Javier said he took her in the back of his truck today (knowing I would not be happy with that decision) but she did great! She loves to be outside and loves the wind. I guess it'll be hard now to get her inside the car for trips.

Jodee's love for outdoors brings me to my next - and final - blurb... a new place to live with a back yard... Javier and I like where we are, the size is nice, rent is right... but there is no back yard. I think we're better puparents because there is no yard and we are required to get JoJo all of her exercise, but We really want to have a bbq, have the dog outside with us, and actually entertain people in our yard. My parents have always had a big porch and that is where most of our time at home is spent, so be on the lookout for a reasonably priced 2 -3 bedroom place with a great back yard for us! I think that is the only thing missing from our house that would make it a home!

Thats all for now, I need to read and actually enjoy the little bit of time I have to spend with Javier and JoJo.
