D.J. Graduates!!

My little brother graduated from TLU this past weekend!! And what a weekend it was! They got first place in their division for baseball, so the Conference tournament was held at TLU (if they had lost one more game it would have been in Abilene). The tournament started on Friday. Dj's team lost 8-7 in 11 innings! so that meant they had to play 11:00 on Saturday (graduation day). They beat that team in 3.5 hours (long for a baseball game) and put all the other games back time... but set them up to play in the 4:00 game. Graduation start time was 7pm. They did not start the 4:00 game until 5:00 and it was a great game! They were very close the whole time. At 6:30, we told all the people who were coming to watch him graduate to just come to the baseball field because they were only in the 6th inning. 8th inning ended tied 6-6, and they were home team... top of the 9th, the other team scored 2 runs (on errors) and scared us all a little. Bottom of the 9th DJ's team tied up the game! This was 8:00... The umpires called the game due to lights (there weren't any at the field and it was getting dark) This meant we could all RUN to graduation. They had golf carts lined up ready to take the seniors to graduation...
off they went! Then they came and got he families who were all running across campus to get to see the graduation. When I ran up, all the boys were lined up and I heard someone with the last name starting with z cross the stage! They made it!!
We were so proud of him! (and I was EXTREMELY JEALOUS that he got to graduate in his uniform!)
Mom was so funny... once he got done with the ceremony - you knwo when everyone else is taking off their cap and gown - she made him put his on!
the picture is blurry, but she said "I paid for this cap and gown, you are wearing it!!" ha ha

Here is a bad one of us, but remember I was at the ball field all day too! They had to resume play on Sunday morning, and lost after 2 more innings! Still very proud of the little guy! He has applied everywhere and hopes to hear back from some sort of job soon... his degree is business management - which i i ugess is not the best time to find a job dealing with that, but he's great! (if anyone knows of any jobs he would be good for... let me know :-D)
