Cake Decorating... class 3

This class was the cupcake class! It was my favorite class so far, but I don't think we should have done the cupcakes with all the practice skills we did in class. I think we should have done the cupcakes last week, since it used the tips from those lessons on the cupcakes... BUT - I still made 1 cupcake (I know how sad, I baked 3 boxes full)

This is the cupcake I made in class (but I forgot to take a picture so it is a day old and it rained so all the frosting kinda melted) ~ and i didn't have white or black to make the eye and mouth, so its got a blue eye and orange mouth ;) and the hair used to stand up - but it now looks slicked back... oooh well :)

So tonight, I decided I needed to practice - and use the icing up I "had to make" for class... so I practice this flower - I like these, even though the teacher lady says she hates them.

Then I had baked some mini cupcakes - and after I realized how hard regular cupcakes are, I decided I wanted to try a cupcake cake :)

The flowers on this are the rosettes - i also did the shells we learned in class around the edges and some drop flowers that you can't see... but I did practice :)

It's also got 2 layers - so there is NOT that much icing on it (well, there is a lot though)
Next week is our last week and we have tons of homework to do, so this week will be full of practicing :) I'm excited! We are going to learn how to make a rose - my Grandma LOVES roses so I can't wait to get to make her a cake!
