I have to say that I had a blast tonight at softball. I haven't played on a team in 3 years, I've subbed a couple times, but haven't been an actual team goer in a long time.
It is going to be super fun since my Daddy is going to come play too! AND Dobby is on the team (well, its her team)! Stoked!
Tonight was our first game, Dad didn't come b/c of work, but he'll be there next week. Tonight, I found out that we have to give the other team a 5 run head start. It didn't matter since we won 20-5 (15 run rule).
I was nervous to start playing again. Last thing I did softball was dislocate my shoulder cheering on a play while coaching - so I've been apprehensive about playin! IT FELT GREAT. My arm doesn't hurt at all and I was throwing pretty hard :) The last thing I did hitting wise was hitting fly balls to my outfielders - well, lets just say I did that well tonight. My first hit went way over the left fielder's head (she was deep - surprised the heck out of me). Next I tried to hit it to Center, didn't work and I flied out to LC. My next two at bats I tried again to hit to the right side or up the middle, but found the 5/6 hole on the ground to get on base both times. Officially it was a 2-4 (one error) with a Double and 2 runs scored. FUN :) I know that its slow pitch and there is no need for there to be a batting average discussion or any other statistical analysis of the game, BUT you know me. I even caught a pop up :) ha ha -- I wanted to call Dobs and say never mind about playing on my way home tonight, but I'm uber glad I didn't.
Yes, I know no one cares about my softball game - or that Dixie went and had fun.. but I do ;) yay
I took Dixie with me too. She was hilarious when we were warming up. She is a great Monkey in the Middle! She's beat to say the least now. I bet she sleeps all night long :) I was proud of her! She played with a little puppy, was nice to a couple little kids & did not bark at the game. She's growing up!
